CROSS TRAINERS MINISTRY

Leading individuals to Jesus Christ and ministering the plan of salvation. Helps new members become acclimated to our church as well as assisting them through baptism and the Life Development Institute.
CULINARY ARTS
Sister Dona Wiggins
Provides food for special events at our church and upon request, provides a repast after home-going/funeral services.
DANCE MINISTRY
Minister Stephanie Powell
Spreads the Gospel of the Lord through movement using our bodies as instruments of artistic expressions reflecting the gifts and talents He has given to us; encourages membership in His family; grows members to spiritual maturity, equips them with tools necessary for overcoming challenges of the world; and strives to become great stewards over the gift of dance; we aim to be pleasing to God and to magnify His Name.
DISCIPLESHIP
Minister Jackie English
To train believers to become disciples of Jesus Christ. The disciples are taught in a small group format that is facilitated by a mature disciple. The training is a three year process that uses the framework of Equipping Empowering and Envisioning. At the end of the three year process, the disciples will be disciple-makers, fulfilling the Great Commission.
EVANGELISM

Presents Jesus Christ to the World in the power of the Holy Spirit that people shall come to put their trust in God to accept Jesus as their Savior and Lord.
FUNERAL SERVICES

Assists the family in the coordination of the funeral planning of the deceased member. We secure date/time, secure persons who will participate in service, and notify all church ministries involved.
GOD’S PROPERTY
Trustee Kim Neal
Focus on educating people on Biblical Stewardship. Our main goal is to free people up so their time, talents, gifts and resources can be used to advance God’s Kingdom here on earth. We do this by using God’s Word to make clear what is meant by a “good and faithful steward”. In a nutshell, we teach God’s financial principles that transform lives.
HEALTH & WELLNESS MINISTRY
Deacon Brandon Simms
A ministry seeking to become advocates of healthy living with the growing knowledge of health, nutrition, and fitness as it pertains to God’s word and sharing this knowledge with God’s people in bringing them closer to Jesus Christ.
HOSPITALITY MINISTRY

Serves as the official host of the church, greeting our guests with a smile and kind words as they enter the sanctuary, welcoming them during the worship service and following up with visitors.
INTERCESSORY PRAYER

Intercedes in prayer for the needs, concerns and well-being of the congregation and community. Provide guidance through prayer and invoke the presence of The Lord through prayer.
KIDS CLOSET
Sister Takiyah Reed
Collects and distributes clothing, shoes, toys, and other accessories to children and adults within the community.
LIFE DEVELOPMENT INSTITUTE

The Life Development Institute (LDI) is our main program for our committed congregational base. The following courses are included: To lead people to Christ and church membership (101), to grow people in spiritual maturity (201), to equip people with the skills they need for ministry (301), to enlist people to the worldwide mission of sharing Christ (401) and to encourage people to get their financial house in order.
MANNA MINISTRY

Serves the community residents twice a month with food. With assistance from the Maryland food Bank we have served hundreds of families and thousands of individuals, both community residents and parishioners during the holiday season.
MARRIAGE MINISTRY

Meets heterosexual married couples where they are in order to take them to where God would have them to be. Exercising the Word of God for their lives and to grow greater in Christ’s standards.

MOBILE FEEDING

As a sanctuary without walls, we strive and thrive to break barriers, build bonds and relationships with those who are unable to acquire and maintain regular, safe and secure and adequate housing due to a lack of, or an unsteady income. We do so by preparing and distributing food and basic personal supplies, and sharing the good news.

SUNDAY SCHOOL
Sister Monique Marrow
One of the foundational strategies at Greater Gethsemane for leading people to faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and for building Great Commission Christians. Through open Bible study groups we engage participants to deepen their lives in evangelism, discipleship, ministry, fellowship, and worship. Our goal is to move people toward spiritual maturity.
TRANSPORTATION MINISTRY
Deacon Larry Harlee
Provides transportation for members and visitors to attend worship services. Transportation is provided for ministries when needed for worshipping with other churches as well.
USHERS MINISTRY
Sister Martha Ellis
Provides order to ensure a comfortable worship experience, and provide for the need of all during the service.
VISITATION
Minister Carolyn Brown
Provides pastoral care to our members by coming alongside them when they are experiencing difficulties as a result of death of loved ones and when they face health challenges that result in hospitalization and/or rehabilitation in nursing homes.
